Full Size Vehicles

If you own a full-sized truck, you need to know a few things....

As much as I hate to say it, size matters; at least when it comes to off-roading. You already understand the problem of a long wheelbase on obstacles. Now, we've done the best we can in determining the trails needed to accommodate everyone. It's kind of tough to do when you have a stock Jeep Liberty following in behind a big block powered rock crawler.

All major obstacles like mud bowls and big rock runs have a bypass around them.

Below are some of our recommendations and warnings. Please take these as extreme but likely examples. These are just generalizations. Tire size, ground clearance, lifts, and vehicle model/makes all play a part in how the vehicle will do on the trails. For the most part, they do well due to manufacturers giving them some decent ground clearance. It's the length of your wheelbase that causes you the most grief.

These warnings are based solely on STOCK vehicles.

A) Dually equipped 4X4's should NOT attend. Your rear flares are too wide for the trails. You WILL damage them.

B) Super Crew (4 door) Long beds - These types are not recommended but have been known to run the trails. Unless you are extremely careful and a very skilled driver, you can be almost assured of some sort of "rock rash" or belly scraping. "K" turns and the forest trails will be extremely tight if not almost impossible to navigate. Stay out of the Mud bowls.

C) Extended cab long beds - While not a common occurrence, they do run the green trails and can expect tight squeezes and difficult "K" turns. Be advised some quick steep drops might cause the frame to scrape the dirt. Stay out of the Mud bowls

D) Extended cab & Super crew mid/short beds - These vehicles do relatively well due to their shorter wheelbase. You shouldn't have any problems but again, expect tight turns. They are although still susceptible to rock rash and high centering if you're not careful. Only run the shallow entry/exit Mud bowls.

E) Full Size Broncos & Blazers - The short wheelbase is your savior to a point and will do extremely well even in the deep mud bowls. Stock size tires and height are not of any concern unless you are really trying to get it stuck... Deep mud bowls (steep entry/exit) can be pretty tricky if it's stock.

We're not telling you to not attend. We're just providing the nuances of running LWB trucks off-road. Again, The trails we're running shouldn't pose any problem other than what has been already mentioned.

It is up to you whether or not you attend. We are not responsible for ANY damage you may incur.
